Frequently asked questions
The basics
What exactly am I buying?
A keepsake made from a real GPS route — your run or ride, rendered as artwork with your details on it. You can choose a fridge magnet, a poster, or a t-shirt. Every piece is printed to order.
What's the difference between the three styles?
- Neon — a clean, minimalist line drawing of your route. Works for any route, and it's our default.
- Elevation — your route coloured by the climbs and descents, so the hills show. Needs elevation data in your file.
- Map — your route drawn over a real street map, so you can see the streets and landmarks you passed.
On each product page you can switch between the styles to see how they look before you buy.
Do I have to make my own, or can I just buy one?
Either. If we've already made your event, you can just pick the product, choose a style, and check out — no uploading, nothing to set up. If your route isn't listed, or you want your own name, time and stats on it, use Create yours.
Creating your own route
How do I get my route onto a product?
Go to Create yours and either upload a GPX file (most accurate — it draws your exact route) or a screenshot of your activity. We'll trace the route automatically. Add your name, time and date, pick a style and product, and add it to cart.
Where do I find a GPX file?
Every major app exports one. In Strava, open the activity on the website, click the ••• menu and choose Export GPX. Garmin Connect, COROS and AllTrails all have a similar export option. Our how to get your route guide walks through each app step by step.
I don't have a GPX. Can I use a screenshot?
Yes. Upload a clear screenshot of your activity map and we'll trace the route line, removing logos, stats and other marks automatically. A GPX will always give the sharpest result, but a good screenshot works well.
Why can't I choose Elevation or Map for my route?
Both need more information than a plain image can give us. Elevation requires elevation data, which is only in a GPX file (and only if your device recorded it — flat treadmill runs often have none). Map requires real coordinates, which also come from a GPX. If you upload a screenshot, Neon will still work perfectly.
Can I check my design before it's printed?
Yes — the preview on the Create yours page is the design. Swipe through to see it flat and on the product. Please double-check your name, spelling, time and date before you add to cart, because each piece is made just for you.
Products, sizing and printing
What sizes are the products?
Magnets are 4"×4" die-cut. Posters are 12"×16", unframed. T-shirts are unisex, in sizes S, M, L and XL — there's a size guide on every t-shirt product page and in the customiser.
How much do they cost?
Magnets are $24.95, posters $40 and t-shirts $45 (AUD). Shipping is calculated at checkout.
Are posters framed?
No — posters ship unframed, printed on enhanced matte paper, ready to put in a frame of your choosing.
Orders and shipping
When will my order arrive?
Everything is made to order, so nothing is printed until you buy it. Orders are typically dispatched within a few business days, then delivery time depends on where you are. You'll get a confirmation email when your order is on its way.
Do you ship outside Australia?
We're based in Sydney and ship across Australia. If you're overseas, email us and we'll let you know what's possible.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Get in touch as soon as you can. Because each piece is personalised and made to order, we can usually only make changes before it goes into production — once it's printed, we can't undo it. If you spot a typo in your name or time, email us straight away and we'll do our best.
Problems and returns
What if my order arrives damaged or misprinted?
We'll fix it. Contact us within 30 days of receiving your order, include a clear photo showing the problem, and we'll arrange a free reprint or a refund. You don't need to send the item back.
What if my order never arrives?
Let us know within 30 days of the estimated delivery date and we'll sort it out with you.
Can I return it if I change my mind, or ordered the wrong size?
Because every piece is personalised and printed to order, we can't accept returns or size exchanges for change of mind, or if the wrong size was selected at checkout — the item can't be resold to anyone else. Please check the size guide before ordering, and if you're unsure, email us first and we'll help you pick.
This doesn't affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law: if a product is faulty, not as described, or otherwise fails a consumer guarantee, you're entitled to a repair, replacement or refund.
The design isn't what I expected.
Email us with your order number and a photo. If we've made a mistake, we'll reprint it. If the route or details you uploaded came through differently than you hoped, tell us what's wrong — we'd rather work it out with you than have you stuck with something you don't love.
About the events
Is My Milestone affiliated with the events you list?
No. My Milestone is an independent Australian business. Our products are personalised keepsakes made from GPS route data, and any event name or date is used only to describe the route the keepsake commemorates. We're not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed by any event, its organisers, or its sponsors.
My race isn't listed. Can you add it?
Very likely — email us the event and we'll look at adding it. In the meantime you can make it yourself in Create yours by uploading your GPX.
Do I need to have run the race to buy one?
Not at all. They make good gifts — for a partner who just finished their first marathon, a mate who's been chasing a PB, or your own route that means something only to you.
